Calling All Pilgrims - Time to Plan

So what are Share the Blessings "pilgrims" - well they are the folks that go to majority world countries as part of Share the Blessings annual trips. We attempt to travel to a majority world country at least once a year. Since 2002 Share the Blessings has been successful in sending off a group of pilgrims each year. Our most frequented location is Uganda. But we have also had pilgrims go to Bolivia as well.
Our pilgrims typically experience the full breath of the country. We coordinate the pilgrimages via several prepatory meetings. During these meetings pilgrims learn and plan several things:

they learn about the country they will be visiting

typical costs for food, hotel and travel expenses

immunization shots they will need to receive

visas that will need to be obtained

Our pilgrims typically start meeting in the fall before Christmas and continue thru to the following year's trip. The pilgrimages, the trips themselves, typically occur over the summer. The pilgrimages focus on enjoying the beauty of the country as well as the people.  We not only focus on taking in some of the enjoyable scenes but we also focus on experiencing the needs of those in the majority world countries. That is why we also call the pilgrimages experiential trips! From these first hand experiences pilgrims come back ready and eager to help make a difference. The areas that we focus on currently are clean water and education.
